Julie Wang (she/her)

Director, Strategic Partnerships

Julie received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.

She joined the CPI team in 2022.

During Julia’s time in business school, she had the privilege of spearheading the Urban Business Assistance Corporation, an initiative supported by Stern that focused on providing vital advisory services to minority entrepreneurs across New York City’s diverse boroughs.

Through her involvement with the Taproot Foundation, she immersed herself in rebranding efforts for what would become St. Nick’s Alliance, crafting their new identity with a vibrant logo, impactful tagline (“Where Opportunity Grows”), and strategic branding strategy. Witnessing these elements come to life across Northern Brooklyn has been immensely fulfilling.

Additionally, as a founding board member of Global Potential, a nonprofit committed to empowering underserved youth through education and global leadership skills, Julie played a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for an organisation that continues to shape the lives of young New Yorkers through transformative educational experiences and community engagement.

Julie is particularly passionate about the systems change focus of CPI’s work because it’s about figuring out how to fix complex problems for good, rather than just putting temporary band-aids on the problem. Tackling these changes takes genuine teamwork, many times amongst folks who are not naturally aligned with each other, but who all understand it’s how we create a future where everyone has a fair shot at success.

Julia loves her role within CPI because she has the opportunity to understand the diverse perspectives of very different stakeholders across systems, and work to “connect the dots” to design partnership collaborations that can lead to more inclusive program impact.

In her leisure time, Julie enjoys trying out new cooking recipes, nature hikes that lead to beautiful vistas, immersing herself in the arts, and spending time with her family and dog.
