Bronwyn Clarke (she/her)

Senior Associate

Bronwyn holds an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science from South Puget Sound Community College. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, with a minor in Global Engagement, from the University of Washington Tacoma. Additionally, she completed a Master of Philosophy in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford.

She joined the CPI team in 2023.

Outside of her role at CPI, Bronwyn does qualitative research in and with her community. A recent example that she is very proud of is co-leading the learning strategy for Tacoma’s 2nd guaranteed income demonstration using participatory methods, partnering with former recipients and local government stakeholders.

During 2020, Bronwyn also led user experience research at a nonprofit that distributed over $100M in direct cash assistance to 200,000+ households impacted by the pandemic. She says that being in that role at that time was a wild ride, but she got to do some really cool things like design a large-scale survey for recipients that got over 10K responses.

During her Master’s thesis in 2017-2018, she did a comparative case study on three social service organisations taking a relational approach to their support for families living with limited incomes. She is still very proud of that research, because at the time there was very little literature on social innovations in the social policy field, much less relational innovations that harness the power of families’ social capital.

The main project that she has worked on so far at CPI was on i-teams, which was supporting leaders in innovation and design to pitch their city governments for continued funding/capacity for human-centered design. For Bronwyn, it was truly an incredible experience to get to work with innovation leaders in Mexico City and Bogotá. Despite them being such high performing teams, she’s glad we were able to bring value to them as they thought deeply about their sustainment strategy.

In her leisure time, Bronwyn enjoys horse riding and pottery.
