Arthur Shemitz

Senior Associate, CPI North America

Arthur was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies from Whitman College and a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University.

He joined the CPI team in 2023.

 

Arthur served for four years in the California state government, helping promote electric vehicle market development in Governor Brown’s Office of Business and Economic Development and advocating to strengthen and secure pension funds for public school educators

He has also served as a volunteer tax preparer since 2019 and prepared hundreds of tax returns for low-income taxpayers in California, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Arthur is passionate about CPI’s work to promote equity and legitimacy in government: whose needs are we centering in our policies and programs and how are we staying accountable to our communities? At CPI, he has worked on the Innovation Track for the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, working with city leaders across the U.S. and Canada to develop innovative solutions to their city’s pressing challenges that are created in collaboration with the most impacted residents.

In his leisure time, Arthur enjoys crossword puzzles, public transit, and seeing his neighbourhood cats.
